Late September, The Waiting List
A Car That Already Has a Job
Managers write the work in the Hub. Avis Maintenance opens ASSIGNED — grouped by MVA, in-progress first, leftover cars still on top the next morning. Tap a row. The service is locked. Finish it and the next job on that car is waiting. Type an MVA on a new card and ASSIGNED TO THIS VEHICLE lights up. Any technician punched in at that lot can take it.
A Shelf You Can Read From
Reserve Fleetcare managers open TIRES next to SHORTAGES. Search size, manufacturer, model. STOCK AT Central. LOW STOCK and OUT sit on the SKU before anyone walks the bin. Avis still does not pull rubber from that shelf — they never supplied it.
A Camera That Knows the Brand
Hertz wants the unit sticker: owning area, vehicle number, odometer. Sixt wants the plate, the VIN, the keytag, and the PO. Enterprise wants the windshield, the VIN, the keytag — and Punch stopped asking for an MVA they do not have. Avis oil changes include the rotation: left side, right side, both tires off in the frame. Save stays locked until the camera has every slot.
Sick or Vacation, Said Once
Time Off on every employee card asks Sick Day or PTO first. A multi-day vacation makes you count the days before it writes.
September is running out of light. The cars were already here. We put their names on a list. Punch in.
Keep punching,
The Unique Punch Team
P.S.2.0.8 taught the empty bin to write a PO and put every lot on one board. This week the Hub started handing work down, Reserve learned to read the tire shelf, and the camera learned which brand it was standing in. The lemonade from 2.0.6 still stands. September can keep the last heat. We kept the list.
