How can we help?
Answers for everyone who uses Unique Punch on the lot. Search, or browse by topic.
Getting started
How do I sign in for the first time?
Open Unique Punch and type the email your company has on file for you, with the default password unique1234. That doesn’t sign you in: it sends you a password reset email right away. Open it, tap the link and choose your own password. The link works once, for one hour.
No email after 5 minutes? Check spam, then tell your supervisor. They have a step-by-step guide for this.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, type your email with the default password unique1234 and a reset email is sent. If you are still signed in, Profile → Reset Password sends it too.
My email is wrong, or I changed it.
Your email is set by your company in the Hub. Ask your supervisor to correct it, then sign in with the new address.
Why does the app ask for location and camera?
Location confirms you are at your workplace when you punch in and out. The app explains what it collects before your phone asks; choose Allow all the time so verification keeps working during the shift. The camera takes the selfie that confirms it’s you. Without both, the app can’t punch you in.
Location is only used while you are on shift. See the privacy policy.
Punching in
How do I punch in?
At your workplace, open the app: the location name shows at the top. Select the position you will work, then slide to punch in. The selfie camera takes the photo by itself as soon as it sees your face.
The selfie camera won’t take the photo.
It waits until it sees your whole face, steady. Follow the hint on screen (TURN HEAD LEFT, STRAIGHTEN YOUR HEAD, OPEN YOUR EYES) and hold still for a moment. Good light helps, and nothing should cover your face.
How do breaks work?
Start and end your break from the dashboard. The time card shows your shift and how much break time is left. Location tracking pauses while you are on break.
What if the signal is weak when I punch?
Punch anyway. The punch is saved first, and the selfie uploads by itself when the signal comes back, even if you close the app.
Location
The app says I’m outside the location.
You are not inside the circle of your workplace. Move closer and give it a few seconds; the app retries your location by itself.
Tap the map button at the top right to see where you are and the locations nearby, marked with red pins. Tap a pin to see its name. If you are in the right place and it still says outside, close and reopen the app, then tell your supervisor.
Is my location tracked all the time?
No. Only while you are punched in. It pauses during breaks and stops when you punch out. If you turn off location access, you can’t punch in until it is back on, and an open shift is closed.
Jobs and photos
Where do I find the jobs I should do?
Jobs written by your managers show up under ASSIGNED in Maintenance, grouped by car, with the ones in progress first. Anyone punched in at that lot can take one.
Why can’t I save the job?
Each rental company asks for specific photos. SAVE stays locked until every required slot has a photo. Find the empty slot and take that one.
The tire I need isn’t on the shelf.
Report it from the tire change job with REPORT MISSING TIRE: the size, the speed rating, and the MVA if you have it. You don’t need to finish the job first.
Time off and schedule
How do I ask for a day off or PTO?
Talk to your supervisor. They register it in the app as a sick day or as PTO, for one day or several, and it goes for approval.
What is Academy?
Training classes from your company. Open Profile → Academy to see the upcoming classes and subscribe. If a class is full, you go on the waitlist.
Account and app
The app says “Update Required”.
Your version is too old to keep working. Tap Update, install the new version from the store and open the app again.
The app says my account is inactive.
Your company turned your account off. Talk to your supervisor or administrator; nothing on your phone can change it.
